What is Garam Spice?
Depicted by the Indian words “garam” (bitter) and “masala” (spice mix), it is a common condiment in north Indian and South Asian cuisines. It can be used alone or with special sauces.
Garam masala can be prepared in different regions and cultures with different proportions and spice types according to different tastes. A typical Indian gram masala contains black pepper, white pepper, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, black and green cardamom, bay leaf, and cumin.
It is used in all vegetable dishes, meat, chicken and rice pilaf.
