Usage: 20-30 gr. Oregano is brewed in 1 liter of boiling water, drink 2-3 glasses a day. Externally: Hot water, bran and Oregano are mixed and applied to the aching place like a paste.
Usage in Kitchen: It is used in all grilled meats (steak fillet, steak, etc.), different dough dishes, especially pizzas. It can be put in spaghetti sauces, mushroom dishes, tomato salads and stuffed tomatoes, peppers, zucchini and eggplant.
It is added to vegetable soups, meats, game meat, fish, some stuffed mortars, tomato sauces, all kinds of vegetables, and egg dishes.
Cosmetics: It is brewed like tea and applied as a compress on the lower parts of the face. If a steam bath is used, it opens the pores and balances the activity of the sebaceous glands.
Additional Information: Other name: Nemamulotu, black thyme. Oregano species are many, more than 100 species are known, only 40 species have been found in our country. All of these are used in therapy. It is used against psoriasis by mixing thyme powder with honey in Adapazarı regions. When a few drops of thyme essential oil are dripped onto the pillow, it stops nighttime coughing.”
